Description

This is a popular one of our female tags. It has a maxi width, but matches the height of the ETF3 tag. This means it can hold a maximum sized serial number and 8-10mm property name, but is contained fully within the ear, with little or no overhang.

The tag is ideal for warmer climates with livestock that have less ear hair, or environments where dust and dirt covers the tags. It is well suited for temperate beef and dairy herds. Ideal for Brahman type cattle, studs, commercials and their crosses. It is our largest recommended tag size for tropical beef cattle.

Recommendations for Cattle

Temperate:

  • Male Tag Recommendation: Either an ETM1 or an ETM3 work well with this tag
  • Age at Application: Paired with an ETM1 this tag can be applied at birth, with an ETM3 you should wait until marking

Dairy:

  • Male Tag Recommendation: Either an ETM1 or an ETM3 work well with this tag
  • Age at Application: Paired with an ETM1 this tag can be applied at birth, with an ETM3 you should wait until weaning

Tropical:

  • Male Tag Recommendation: Either an ETM1 or an ETM3 work well with this tag
  • Age at Application: Paired with an ETM1 this tag can be applied at birth, with an ETM3 you should wait until branding

Print Format:

There are three main formats for the ETF4

  • One Line: This is usually used for a serial number, but it can also be text such as a name
  • Two Lines: This is usually text and a serial number, but can also be two lines of text, or two numbers
  • Three Lines: This is usually two lines of text and a serial number

Print Size:

The ETF4 as a maximum print height of 55mm and maximum width of 65mm. The ETF4 has two different print sizes, standard printing, which is our regular size, and maxi printing, this is a larger number but is more expensive.

  • One Line: The normal printing height for one line is 40mm, the maxi print is 45mm
  • Two Lines: The normal heights are one line 40mm and one line 8-10mm, for maxi print it is 45mm and 8-10mm.
  • Three Lines: The normal heights are one line 30mm and the other two 8mm, there is not a maxi print option for three lines of print
